The Department of IT commenced in 1999 with an intake of 60. The department presently has an intake of 120 for B.Tech course. The department offers M.Tech course in Web Technology with an intake of 18. The department has well qualified faculty with 1 Professor, 2 Associate Professors, 2 Senior Assistant Professors and the others are Assistant Professors.
The department consists of CP lab, DBMS Lab, Unix Programming lab, Web Technologies lab, UML Lab and exclusive labs for PG course students. The various licensed software are Oracle10g, Rational Rose, Turbo Cpp Editor, Microsoft Windows Campus Drive and Semantic Antivirus. The department regularly organizes seminars and workshops. Faculty members participate in various workshops, seminars and conferences in-house and elsewhere. The students of this department actively participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Many of the alumni are placed in premier companies in India and abroad. The department has started the IEEE-Computer Society and CSI chapters through which regular seminars and workshops are organized by the students. COURSE OBJECTIVE
This course focuses on Software Engineering Technologies, Database Management Systems, Advanced Software Technologies, such as Multimedia and Web Designing. The course is designed to prepare engineers for IT-enabled applications and services. The engineering graduate in IT would be capable of bringing a holistic approach to the designing, testing, and maintenance of Information Systems.
