The Department of CSE came into existence right from the inception of the college in1999 with an intake of 60. The present intake is 180 for B.Tech course. The department is successfully running two M.Tech courses, one in Software Engineering with an intake of 18 and the other is Computer Science and Engineering with an intake of 25. The department has 3 Professors, 15 Associate Professors and others are Assistant professors.

The department consists of CP lab, DBMS Lab, Unix Programming lab, Web Technologies lab, UML Lab, exclusive labs for PG courses and a separate R and D lab for faculty and students. The various licensed software are Oracle10g, Rational Rose, Turbo Cpp Editor, Microsoft Windows Campus Drive and Semantic Antivirus.

The department has signed an MoU with TCS for providing IT infrastructure to conduct their various exams.

Organizing seminars/ workshops is a regular feature of the department, besides regular participation of faculty members in such events in-house and elsewhere. The students of this department actively participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Many of the alumni hold key positions in reputed organizations within the country as well as abroad. The department has started the IEEE-Computer Society and CSI chapters through which regular seminars and workshops are organized by the students.



COURSE OBJECTIVE:
The undergraduate program in Computer Science & Engineering is essentially aimed at equipping a student with excellent programming and system related competencies. Teaching is focused on systems programming as well as application programming. Knowledge is imparted in Computer Architecture and Design, maintenance and networking. Students are also taught a spectrum of programming languages spanning assembly language programming, C, Java, C++, dot net and also operating systems like UNIX and Windows.  In addition, they are also imparted skills in packages like Multimedia, Informatica etc.
